If you’re here, you already know alcohol is causing problems you can’t ignore anymore.
SoberQuit is a resource for goal-oriented professionals and high-performers who are done negotiating with alcohol. People who are capable and driven, but tired of the mental drag, anxiety, and constant back-and-forth that drinking creates.
You’re in the Right Place If...
- You’re generally successful, but alcohol is costing you too much.
- You’ve tried to quit drinking many times, but it’s never really stuck.
- You think in terms of systems and long-term outcomes.
- You want real change without turning it into a public project.
- You’re done with short-term fixes and want something that actually lasts.
If you’ve been trying to quit drinking for a while, or wondering why it keeps pulling you back, you’re not alone.
Why This Exists
Most quitting advice doesn’t speak to people like us.
- We want tools that match how we think. Practical. Structured. Direct.
- We understand that effort matters, but we also know effort alone isn’t enough.
- We want a clear process without guesswork or fluff.
- We live high-functioning lives and want change that lasts.
The problem isn’t motivation.
Alcohol gets tangled up with stress, habits, and daily routines in ways that aren’t obvious at first.
When pressure is high, alcohol doesn’t help us cope. It adds strain. Anxiety, poor sleep, foggy thinking, and all the things that make life harder than it needs to be.
SoberQuit exists to help you understand that system clearly, so you can remove alcohol deliberately instead of cycling through effort and frustration.
A Note About Me
Hi, I’m Brent.
I’m not a psychologist or 12-step sponsor.
My goal here is to help high-performers quit alcohol in a clear, structured way.
I spent most of my life trying to quit drinking. I tried everything. I built a life I was proud of, but alcohol kept pulling me in a direction I didn’t want to go.
I tried moderating. I tried rules. The harder I tried to control it, the more stuck I felt.
What finally helped wasn’t more pressure. It was understanding what alcohol was actually doing and why my old approaches weren’t working.
This site came out of that process. Nothing more than that.
What I needed didn’t seem to exist:
- A way to quit while still operating at a high level.
- Tools that worked under real-life pressure.
- An approach that didn’t rely on endless willpower.
- A methodical path to permanent change.
- Guidance that was structured, sustainable, and made sense.
So I built it. And now I’m sharing it, starting with what I wish I had.
What You’ll Find Here
This site is intentionally simple. Just clear thinking, and real perspective.
Here, we talk about:
- What alcohol actually does to your brain and body.
- Why quitting feels harder than it should, even when you’re serious.
- How cravings and mental bargaining work, and how to interrupt them.
- How alcohol affects stress, mood, and work performance.
- What lasting change looks like when it’s built on understanding instead of force.
The goal is simple. Help you think clearly enough to make a decision that sticks.
How to Use This Site
